Enterprise network management
Vaclík, Michal ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
Master’s thesis discusses the design and implementation of network infrastructure for computer laboratory in Department of Communications. Thesis focuses on VLAN definitions and deployment of server virtualization, including network monitoring station.
Utilization of Linux Containers for HW/SW Co-Design
Juřica, Jiří ; Přikryl, Zdeněk (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis a way of replacement standard virtual machines by Linux containers is described. The goal is to create a~fully working system for performing parallel jobs with prepared environments for software build and test purposes. For containerization the Docker platform was chosen, which is used with automation tool for computers preparation. The system is also connected with continuous integration tool called Jenkins. This solution proves that usage of the Linux containers is more efficient than older virtualization technologies. The due time of each job was shortened about 24 % in average. The main benefits of this thesis is the comparison of two ways of virtualization and the introduction to the Docker technology.
Comparison of Systems for Monitoring of Computer Networks
Vozdecký, Lukáš ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (referee) ; Čejka, Rudolf (advisor)
This thesis is comparison of three open--source Linux/Unix network monitoring applications Nagios, Zabbix, Big Sister. Every application is described according to its basic fundamentals. The comparison is done through managing series of tests based on real environment experience. Solution to these problems and specific procedure differencies are described for each application.
Implementation of open source system for network monitoring
Scripnic, Dmitrii ; Sládok, Ondřej (referee) ; Grenar, David (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with network monitoring. In this work, a theoretical analysis of known monitoring systems was performed and their architecture, properties and work with these systems were also described. Subsequently, a comparative characteristic of all described systems was performed. At the beginning of the practical part, the installation and configuration of all monitoring systems and their evaluation was performed. The second part deals with the Zabbix monitoring system, where more emphasis was placed on monitoring IP service delays.
Optimizing Network Tracking Tool for Management of BUT Campus Network
Drienko, Peter ; Grégr, Matěj (referee) ; Podermański, Tomáš (advisor)
This master's thesis focuses on optimizing the network tracking tool Zabbix. In the first part this thesis provides an overview of techniques used for monitoring computer networks. The thesis also describes the fundamentals of how Zabbix works, especially in large enviroments. In the second part of the thesis we compare existing optimizations of the database structure which divides large, parent tables into small partitions. The most suitable solution is chosen which is then modified for the BUT network needs. Using this optimization we achieved a decrease of the processor utilization on the Zabbix server and a significant decrease in the growth of data on its hard drive.
Design and Implementation of the Surveillance Information System
Čelka, Marek ; Jiřík, Leoš (referee) ; Luhan, Jan (advisor)
The main goal of the master thesis is design and implementation of information system for monitoring purposes. The implemented monitoring system will be able to automatically monitor devices of a certain company. This goal is preceded by strategic analysis using PEST and 7S methods for examination of current state of the company. Another part is the analysis of the efficiency of service processes using the HOS method together with the selection of a suitable monitoring system. An enhancement of service processes is designed by the Lewin model. Finally, the selected information system for monitoring was designed, implemented and tested. A deployment of the system should provide simplification of devices supervision, to save costs as well as to speed-up the response-time to unexpected situations.
Identification of Device Availability in Technological Networks
Vodehnal, Stanislav ; Mlýnek, Petr (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the monitoring of network elements of technological networks and distribution systems. There are described reasons why and what kind of values we want to monitor. Three monitoring systems are then selected, described their properties and functions. Based on their merits, one system for deploying the test environment is selected. The practical part is the configuration of the selected system and its subsequent deployment to the network.
Devices Monitoring in Computer Networks
Kutaj, Matej ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the supervision of computer networks and related technologies. The bachelor thesis describes individual technologies, topology of supervised network, list of Vlan networks, description of Zabbix system, its implementation in Hyper-V and setting of individual network adapters, description of error solving by creating script and then creating all elements using web interface. The results are created by maps of individual monitored networks and created graphs from priority switches.
Dohled firemní infrastruktury pomocí nástroje Zabbix s integrací log manageru ELISA
Jelínek, Roman
Jelinek, R. Monitoring of Company Infrastructure using Zabbix Tool with Integra-tion of ELISA Log Manager. Master's Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. This thesis deals with the creation of a monitoring system for a company's infrastructure. The monitoring system is implemented using the Zabbix monitoring tool, configured according to the organization's requirements. Furthermore, log files are analyzed using the ELISA log manager, and the logs are subsequently evaluated based on created rules. As part of this thesis, the integration of these two systems was configured to enable monitor alerts sent from the ELISA system within the Zabbix interface.
Optimization of network monitoring systems and their integration with user support tools
Krýcha, Jakub ; Dvořák, Jan (referee) ; Kubánková, Anna (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on the implementation of monitoring systems, automated solutions and prevention of potential issues in computer networks. The objective was to implement a monitoring system into the network, automate the solution of encountered problems, and create scripts that would ensure appropriate remedies upon the detection of an existing or emerging problem.
